Junior Management Programme
Target audienceParticipants include talented individuals and/or specialists who are currently not in a managerial position but who may take on greater responsibilities in the future. Participants are interested in developing their management skills. In order to be a successful manager/leader it is no longer sufficient to rely on functional expertise only. As a consequence, we have designed a modular training programme to specifically hone the competencies of your future managers.
Module 1: Communication (2 days)
- Basics of communication
- Communication models
- How to communicate effectively
- Perception and interaction
- Feedback
Module 2: Think on Your Feet® (2 days)

- Coming right to the point – in presenations, emails etc.
- Clarity – simple structures make communication easier
- Brevity – leaving out unnecessary information
- Effect - good and effective communication will be remembered
Module 3: Project Management (3 days)
Tool based training to let participants experience all key elements of project work.
- Process Management (situational analysis, defining objectives, results-orientation, measures and milestones, monitoring, time management, execution plan, to do list etc.)
- Analysis of strengths and weaknesses: What works well, what to improve?
Module 4: Self-Management (3 days)
In this module we use the HBDI to profile personal preferences. For further details on the HBDI see http://www.hid.de/
- To understand one’s thinking styles and preferences; coping with one’s strengths and weaknesses
- Assessment of self and others
- Dealing with difficult people
- Personal goals and work-life-balance
- How to motivate myself and others?
- Getting out of my comfort zone and where are my limits?
Module 5: Mastering Tools and applying learning (3 days)
- Applying the insights and learning from Modules 1 and 2
- Facilitation skills: How to facilitate meetings, brainstorming/creativity sessions?
- Mock presentations (videoed) and feedback
Module 6: Team and Conflict Management (3 days)
To modules is designed to round off the junior development programme. It includes an outdoor training where the participants experience the challenges, opportunities and limits of team work.
- Basics of team management: What makes a good team (high performance)? Ground rules.
- Managing conflicts: theories, concepts, levels and processes, types of conflicts
- Real life examples: participants work on real conflicts
- Managing conflicts within the team
Module 7: Individual feedback session with each participant (2-3 hours)
- Trainer provides detailed development feedback on skills and competencies
- Working on individual problems and solutions
- Defining individual goals for personal/professional development
- Individual coaching
